Rihanna Says New Songs She's Working on for Next Album Are "So Good"

Rihanna has shared another update on her long-awaited next album, saying the songs she’s been working on are “so good.”

The Grammy-winning singer, who hasn’t released a studio album since 2016’s Anti, teased fans during a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday at the launch of her new Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty Earth Tone sneaker.

“I already got stuff that I feel like I can make hits out of. Yeah, really,” Rihanna said, adding that her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, also loves the tracks for himself. “Me and Rocky are really trying to figure out who is going to use what because it’s so good.”

When asked when the next album could drop, the “Work” singer noted that she’s not too sure, quipping, “I wanna know, too.”

The Fenty Beauty founder’s latest comments likely won’t ease eager fans who are waiting in anticipation for more music from Rihanna. They also follow a conversation the singer had with Interview magazine earlier this month, where she shared that she has “a lot of visual ideas” for a new album.

“It’s weird. My brain is working backward right now,” she said at the time. “I usually have the music first, and the music leads me into all of these visual opportunities, and now I’m having all of these visuals.”

Rihanna added, “I don’t have the songs for them yet. But maybe that’s the key, this time. Maybe the visual ideas are leading me to the songs that I need to make.”

Elsewhere in the interview with ET, the “Lift Me Up” singer opened up about who she looks to for style inspiration when dressing her and A$AP Rocky’s two sons, RZA, 23 months, and Riot, 7 months.

“When I dress them, I always try to dress them like Rocky,” the businesswoman said. “I always envision dressing a girl, right? We all do as women, like, ‘Oh, I’m going to dress her in these cute little things,’ but then you get sons and you’re like, ‘What do I do?’ and I was like, ‘You know what, I have the biggest hack — their dad.'”
